LIFE GROWING

The Life Growing residency is a 9-month program geared toward young adults ages 18-26. As a church, one of our responsibilities is to disciple new believers by teaching how to obey all Jesus Christ has commanded. This begins with biblical studies and application. Through our Life Growing residency, interns will spend hours in developing a biblical worldview and learn to navigate a life in the world but not of the world. Our primary focus will begin by strengthening the spiritual understanding of who we are.

SPIRIT
MIND
body

We believe an inward growth spiritually should naturally lead to an outward and visible change among every believer. As a believer navigates through life, many decisions, thoughts, and experiences can quickly alter an individual to feel weak, incapable, or fearful of taking the next best step. Rather than striving to live a "set apart" life, individuals are faced with the pressure to conform to the world's way in order to be successful and survive. Life Growing will provide each intern the tools to walk in confidence, make hard decisions with a biblical worldview, and develop characteristics that will strengthen their growth and deepen their faith to not just survive, but to thrive.

WHAT WE OFFER

Old Testament

This course examines the Old Testament in light of God's plan for redemption. Students will observe God's relentless pursuit for His chosen people through love, mercy, discipline and judgment.

New Testament

This course examines the New Covenant, the lasting works of Jesus and how that impacts us today. Students will study the Gospels, the Epistles, and the Acts of the early church.

Life of Christ

This course examines the gospels in light of Jesus as King, Servant, Man and God. Students will be immersed into the teachings of Jesus, be challenged by His teachings, and come to know Jesus intimately.

Management of Life

This course teaches practical ways in managing one's life. Using Biblical references, students learn principles to help them manage time, finances, friends, relationships and life circumstances.

Life of a Leader

This course will challenge students to evaluate who they are and what effect they currently have on those around them. It provides key principles on how to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and how to lead others.

Family Life

This course teaches the Biblical design of the family through understanding the role of the man, woman and child as single individuals and the impact they have within the family unit.

Money Life

This course teaches students the purpose of money and how to handle it well. Students will develop an understanding of good stewardship over their finances and will learn how to be givers and receivers.

Kingdom Living

This course studies the need for a Biblical worldview and is designed to educate students how to understand the times they are living in, yet not be influenced by it. Topics include media, movies, music, identity/labels, and the value of life.

Healthy Living

This course is designed to energize interns in their physical life and encourage a healthier lifestyle. Interns will engage in physical activities, along with nutritional guidance on how to read labels and recognize it's affects.

LIFE  OF  AN  INTERN

Community is essential to the development of any disciple. We know a believer’s accountability and maturity is influenced by their surroundings, which is why we strive to build relationships among each intern. As interns live with one another, it provides the opportunity to teach basic life management skills such as learning to interact with other individuals, how to handle conflict, how to have fun, and how to maintain an inviting environment. Interns experience independent living and manage their own expenses. One of our main goals is to incorporate biblical values into the every day life. Interns will have the opportunity in the evening to study, work, or rest depending on their needs and priorities. Here is an example of a typical day for an Intern:

8:30A   -  Morning Prayer

9:00A   -  Old Testament

9:45A   -  Ministry/Leadership Development

11:45A -  Lunch

1:30P   -  Management of Life

2:15P   -  Money Life

3:30P   -  Intern is done for the day

As well as classes, interns are required to attend and be a part of each church service. Throughout the program, interns will engage in a variety of ministry outlets including nursery development, youth camps and conferences, worship and preforming arts, and church events and engagements.
